Beginning Band – Our Beginning Band is designed especially for 4th graders and first-year players at our local schools. These special students give up their recess time (and sometimes class time) to learn how to play band instruments. Students receive one 30-minute private or small group lesson at school each week and participate in one large-group (all schools together) rehearsal after school.
We currently offer Beginning Band at All Saints Catholic School North and South, St. Joseph Catholic Academy, the Brompton School and Kenosha Montessori School in Kenosha.
Cadet Band – Our Cadet Band is designed especially for 5th graders and second-year players at our local schools. These special students give up their time to continue learning the skills introduced in Beginning Band. Similar to Beginner Band, Cadet Band students receive one 30-minute private or small group lesson at school each week and participate in one large-group (all schools together) rehearsal after school.
We currently offer Cadet Band at All Saints Catholic School North and South, St. Joseph Catholic Academy, the Brompton School and Kenosha Montessori School in Kenosha. Students at Paideia Academy may also participate on a modified basis.
Concert Band – This band is designed for our middle school musicians, after completion of the Beginning and Cadet Bands. They meet twice each week after school at St. Joseph High School for a group rehearsal. This band may be supplemented with a discounted weekly private lesson to further advance the student’s musicianship. Public, private and home school students are all eligible for enrollment in this ensemble.
Honors Band – The Honors Band is the most advanced band in the CYO Band. Designed especially for high school musicians, this band performs throughout the year. They meet twice each week after school at St. Joseph High School for a group rehearsal. This band may be supplemented with a discounted weekly private lesson to further advance the student’s musicianship. Public, private and home school students are all eligible for enrollment in this ensemble.
